Could You Be Normal Weight Obese?

Some people who are at a normal weight are now being classified as normal weight obese. Well, give the national media and the government an opportunity to put us all in a category and they will. People feel bad enough as it is when theya re merely 5 pounds overweight, now they are being called "normal weight obese". What happened to the good old days, when you were either considered fat or skinny? Here are 10 helpful tips to stay healthy.

.) Your health will improve if you minimize the number of pills you take. Acetaminophen may seem okay, but you will be surprised how often a headache can be cured by drinking water, eating or sitting in a quiet room.
.) Easy on the supplements. Adequate amounts can be absorbed by modifying the diet without the risks involved by taking a supplement. Many weightlifters, sprinters and power athletes take creatine, for example, because it gives them a legal edge. Just go easy on the stuff if you decide you want to give it a try. Give your body a break from it after about 6 weeks.
.) Take a complete day off from exercise every once in a while. It doesn't have to be every week, but doing extra training when tired may have a detrimental effect on your health and fitness. Rest plays an important part in your long-term health success.
.) Listen to your body. When exercising it's easy to become preoccupied with the reps or the time you've been exercising. Leave your watch at home and slow down or walk when your body hurts.
.) Vary your diet. Clean proteins and green leafy veggies are a must, every day, for the rest of your life. You'll be amazed at how much better they make you feel, not to mention how regular you'll be.
.) Stretch Out People. Your muscles get shorter through exercise, and if you never stretch you may get injured. One method is to warm up slowly first, then spend several minutes stretching before the main workout. Stretch thoroughly after exercise.
.) Drink water and more water. Drink a lot of water and sports drinks if you sweat a lot. You lose minerals in your body while sweating. It's recommended you drink five glasses of water a day, but if you are working out you need to drink more than this.
.) Exercise with other people. You will meet new friends, and your fitness will improve if you have other people to motivate you.
.) Find someone to be competitive with. Motivation from other people is good, it may help you stay interested in fitness longer and help you make progress on your strength. Do not go crazy and injure yourself.
.) Have fun! Your health and fitness will improve if you are having fun because you will stick to your exercise program.
